Board-Level Climate Risk Expertise Dr Dodd is the inaugural facilitator of the Australian Institute of Company Directors' “Climate Governance for Australian Directors” course. In this role, she equips board members with practical frameworks for navigating climate-related risks and opportunities. Her expertise has directly influenced governance practices at leading corporations, helping board directors align their oversight with global frameworks such as AASB S2 and the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).

Pioneering Regulatory Innovation At Green Industries SA, Dr. Dodd has worked with the Board and South Australian Government championing innovative circular economy initiatives such as the world's first ban on single-use plastics. This groundbreaking policy reflects South Australia's position as a global leader in waste management and created a dynamic and evolving model for regulatory reform across Australia.

International Recognition Her research and policy insights on climate governance have been presented at the United Nations (New York), the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (Geneva), and the Strategic Management Society (Berlin), contributing to global dialogues on sustainability transformation and governance frameworks.

Strategic ESG Integration


Framework Development Dr. Dodd provides strategic ESG advisory services to boards navigating complex regulatory landscapes. At Medical Defence Association of South Australia Limited and Medical Insurance Australia Pty Limited, she worked with the board to develop an ESG framework that integrated climate governance principles into organisational structures and operational practices, ensuring alignment with APRA's requirements.

Climate-Related Financial Disclosures Through a prestigious Australian Research Council Discovery Grant project (2024-2027), she pioneers research integrating satellite imagery with carbon accounting to enhance the reliability and transparency of Australian carbon disclosures. This work addresses critical gaps in emissions reporting, supporting organizations in meeting regulatory obligations and net-zero commitments.

Energy Transition Governance As an Energy Advisory Board Member for the Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, Dr. Dodd provided strategic guidance on major energy market reforms, including the Victorian Gas Substitution Roadmap, the Renewable Energy Zones Development Plan, and Green Hydrogen Industry Development Plans.

Board and Governance Experience


Green Industries SA (2018-present) As Board Member and Governance Committee Chair, Dr. Dodd has significantly improved risk identification, oversight, and mitigation strategies. Notable achievements include overseeing disaster waste recovery efforts following the 2020 bushfires and 2022 Murraylands floods, ensuring effective management of a $15M recovery partnership with the Federal Government.

Australian Dance Theatre (2024-present) As Non-Executive Director and Governance, Finance, and Risk Committee member, she secured $66,000 in new funding aligned with strategic priorities and oversaw child safety policy reforms to ensure regulatory compliance and manage operational risks.

Australian Maths Trust (2024-present) As Chair of the Finance, Audit & Risk Management Committee and backed by a $5.5M grant from XTX, Dr. Dodd supported delivery of the 2025 International Maths Olympiad. Her role included governance oversight for planning and risk management associated with hosting 1,000 international delegates, as well as overall strategic and risk governance for the organisation.

Social Impact Initiatives Dr. Dodd served as Lead Economic Advisor for Common Ground on the $9M Aspire Social Impact Bond (2015-2017), successfully ending homelessness for 600 people. This pioneering financial instrument represented one of Australia's first social impact bonds and established a replicable model for addressing complex social challenges through innovative investment structures.

Defence & National Security As Co-Lead for the Defence Trailblazer Research Programme ($1.03M, 2024-2026), she coordinates more than 50 industry, academic, and government partners to enhance Australia's defence capabilities, with findings informing Department of Education policy reforms.
